Workstation Fabrication
Sheet metal fabrication is the process of cutting and bending sheet metal to build equipment and structures. It is more cost-effective compared to CNC when dealing with sheet metal of uniform thickness.

Customers may select their preferred processing and finishing, including laser cutting, bending, welding and powder coating to suit their requirements. The type of finishing affects the chemical resistance, appearance, surface smoothness and hardness of the final product.
Types of Finishing
Finishing | Description
Standard Finishing | Parts are machined and deburred, sharp edges are smoothened and chamfered.
Smooth Machining | Similar to the standard finishing however with less evident machine marks. The metal is machined at a lower feed without hand polishing.
Brushed (Ra 1.2μm / Ra 47μin) | The metal is brushed with a #400-600 grit. This helps to reduce the surface roughness.
Bead Blasted | The metal is bead-blasted with glass beads resulting in a grainy texture.
Brushed + Anodized Type II (Glossy) | The metal is first brushed and then anodized. This increases the metal's corrosion resistance and results in a glossy appearance.
Bead Blasted + Anodized Type II (Matte) | The metal is first bead blasted and then anodized. This increases the metal's corrosion resistance and results in a matte appearance.
Standard + Anodized Type III (Hardcoat) | The metal is processed and then anodized with type III coating applied directly onto the surface. This increases the metal's corrosion and wear resistance.
Powder Coated | A strong, wear-resistance finish that is highly compatible with all metal.
Brushed + Electropolished (Ra 0.8μm / Ra 32μin) | The metal is first brushed then electropolished. This reduces the micro-roughness of the part.
Black Oxide | Black oxide is a conversion coating that improves corrosion resistance. Suitable for steels and minimizes light reflection.
Chromate Conversion Coating | The metal is processed and then a chromate conversion coating is applied. This increases the metal's corrosion resistance while maintaining its conductive properties. It is RoHS compliant.
Polishing (Ra 0.8μm / Ra 32μin) | The metal is manually polished in multiple directions to create a smooth and slightly reflective surface. |
